Joseph Green to Represent Guam at the 2022 World Athletics Championships

Guam Track and Field Association announces that Joseph Green has been selected to represent Guam at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon. He will compete in the 200 meters Heats on July 18, 2022 at 5:05 PM (July 19, 2022 at 10:05 AM, ChST).
Green holds a personal best of 22.01 seconds in the 200 meters. At the Northern Marianas Pacific Mini Games 2022 in Saipan, he ran a personal best of 10.99 seconds in the 100 meters and became the first person from Guam to break 11-seconds since PhilAm Garcia in 2005. Green is a resident of Yigo and is a 2020 graduate of Father Duenas Memorial School.
The World Athletics Championships is the premiere event hosted by World Athletics and features approximately 2,000 athletes representing over 200 nations from around the globe. This year's championships will be held at the newly built Hayward Field in the University of Oregon and will be the first time the U.S. hosts the event. The World Athletics Championships is the third-largest sporting event in the world and is held biennially.
